Here’s a time saver if you’ve always resorted, as I have, to writing a short post at your WordPress blog to highlight a new PAGE (not post) that you have added to your WP blog.

Wouldnt you know it? – there is a plugin that does all the work for us. Thanks to Andrew Wilson for finding this and writing about it. To quote…

“as you probably already know, WordPress does not include pages within the feeds it produces. This meant that the first pages to be indexed were rarely the best quality content for which we wanted the sites to be known.

Today I came across a plugin that helps a lot. This plugin, when activated, adds pages to one’s rss feeds. Rss Includes Pages is by Marios Alexandrou and works on WordPress versions from 2.5 onward. Here is a link to Marios’ blog where there are user comments on the plugin.”

What an excellent find. You agree?

Odds are that you’ve heard of word substitution as a way to rework other people’s articles. And if you have, the odds are that you’ve heard this sort of caper can produce nonsense.

Want to see an example?

Somebody out there is using a synonymizer (is there such a word? well, there is now)… a bit of dumb software that replaces individual words or expressions with what are supposed to be synonyms, words with the same meaning.

And the result is first rate garbage.

My original article is shown in bold below, with his garbled version under that in italics… paragraph by paragraph. Some of the most weird bits of mangled English are underlined so you dont miss ‘em.

I’ve no idea what this will do for my position with the search engines (nothing bad, I hope) but our human readers are sure to find it astounding.

If you are looking for a way to cut the high cost of car insurance, check out your local “pay as you drive” insurer. Since we live in Australia, I found http://www.payasyoudrive.com.au and just saved about $500.

Depending on your driving profile, your savings might be less. Or more? – though I think that’s unlikely. We’re in the the “low mileage, older aged, clean record” bracket so this attracted a delightfully low rate for comprehensive car insurance.

And before this, I thought we were doing well. I’d been using an insurance broker who was already getting us a better deal than the major insurance companies were offering.

But it gets better. Next year, if there are unused kilometers on our account, they roll over – so all we’d finish up buying is the “top up” kilometers we need. Cheaper still.

At first, I was uncertain if this pay-as-you-drive thing was a sound proposition but a bit of online research showed it’s been going for some years overseas and that reports are generally good.

Just for the record, this is not a recommendation or an affiliate link. Just me sharing the fact that we saved about $500 on our car insurance – and how we did it.

YourMailingListProvider.com – If you need a FREE mailing service, I have used YMLP. When your list passes the 1000 subscribers mark, you will have to pay.

Zinester.com is another free service I have used. You can export your names and emails from YMLP & Zinester but nobody lets you import a list without sending out a “Please confirm your subscription” email and you lose many from your list in that process. So consider starting right, with GetResponse which is free for 30 days.

A marketer dies, his wife takes over & gives away 40 awesome WordPress templates. Support this!

Yesterday I saw an old post at the Warrior Forum by Barry Richardson. So I replied to it by sending him a PM (private message through the WF).

Soon after that, Martha Richardson replied, telling me she was Barry’s wife and that Barry had passed away and that she was now taking over the business.

I wonder how many wives could do that. It’s quite a gutsy thing to do, especially amidst the loss and major life change she must be going through.
