The simple answer is… web consultants make money. Take my friend from college days, Dan Deininger, for example. Dan has been making websites since 1994 and it’s his FULL TIME business.
Of course there is a lot MORE to being a web consultant than “just” making websites. And Dan has just (yesterday, in fact) released his new training program to share his expertise.
Being an online consultant is about helping businesses use the world wide web. You’ll be paid for helping them go online. Your knowledge (some of which you will learn from Dan – and unless you started just yesterday, which I strongly doubt) about web site marketing will equip you to be an Internet Marketing consultant to others. Once you’ve played with this IM stuff for a while, you really do know a lot more than many folks. Dan can help you put that knowledge to use.
Now you might be wondering…

This is not quite a review of Peter Drew’s Brute Force Linking Loophole but if you’re wondering how this AUTOMATED backlinks-posting software works, this post is definitely for you.
There are ONLY TWO STEPS.
– 1. create free accounts at about 30 high page rank sites
(actually the software does it for you after you enter your data)
– 2. post your link to those 30 high PR sites.
(Any link you wish, with your keywords, and once again, the software does it for you).
Easy.
CLICK HERE TO GET IT FOR $1
Use it relentlessly for 5 days for only $1.
* If it looks like an asset to your business, the monthly is only $39.
* If not, then at least you gained a whole bunch of new High Page Rank links that will get picked up by Google over time.

I was having a problem with one of my sites where, for reasons unknown, WordPress was inserting an unwanted extra backslash after the domain name. For example,
garyharvey.net//whatever
I searched far and wide for the answer but my online friend Frank of C-4.us has sent me the answer. It’s in this page…
http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/07/21/redirect-or-rewrite-to-remove-double-or-multiple-slashes-in-url/
In brief, just add this to your .htaccess file…
# Remove multiple slashes anywhere in URL
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(.*)//(.*)$
RewriteRule . %1/%2 [R=301,L]

I can hardly believe it. I spent a lot of time the other day (yes, too much time) tweaking the look of the Mimbo WordPress theme here at GaryHarvey.net … I tweaked the stylesheet … worked on various layout elements… spent far too long … then finally had it looking to my satisfaction.
Then today I run across a very clever plugin called Tweetmeme. You’ll see the green RETWEET icon on every post and every page.
BUT… with Mimbo, the retweet button only appears on the home page — not all the other posts. No idea why but it’s a great pity.
Anyhow it’s “bye bye Mimbo and hello Tweetmeme” because I’m starting to get into Twitter in a more concerted way.
For now, I’ll just go with the default WP theme. Of all things!!
Do me a favour while you’re here? – RETWEET THIS POST.
Thanks.
Gary

MassArticleControl Review
(please see the UDPATE at the end of this post)
July 11th: Soon (or has it started already?) you’ll be reading a lot about a newly released bit of article creation software called Mass Article Control.
I bought it tonight and wanted to give you my initial impressions.
Obviously…
this isnt one of the canned promos that other marketers will be sending out. It’s my thoughts after using it for the last hour or so.
