Quality Webhosting at a Discount

QUALITY HOSTING AT A DISCOUNT PRICE

I’m now using JustHost to host some of my sites, and I’m very pleased with their service.

If memory serves me here, they guarantee a response within an hour but so far they’ve outdone that every time I had a question or an issue needing their input.

I found them polite helpful and informative. Plus they’ve got everything the typical site owner is looking for.

The current discount cuts the price nearly in HALF. CLICK HERE

* Unlimited domains
* Unlimited bandwidth (= unlimited traffic)
* Unlimited disk space
* CPanel and all the usual features.

Nice.

Best wishes,
Gary Harvey

My wife’s computer started to play up and we’re not sure what triggered it, but she couldn’t see ANY websites at all. Here’s the solution that worked for me.

By the way, anytime you get an error message, you can do a Google search for the exact words of the alert message you are getting.

Our problem:

Pam couldnt get any internet sites on her Firefox browser. Internet Explorer was the same, from memory. All we got was a grey screen with a popup that said… The URL is not valid and can not be loaded.

The solution:

In Firefox, go to Tools, go to Addons, select Extensions, disable all the extensions, restart Firefox. At this point, her usual startup sites were visible — so the problem half solved. We then re-activated the extensions one by one to see if we could isolate one of them as the cause of the problem. Turns out that none of them was the individual cause.

My guess is that process of disabling the Firefox extensions then re-enabling them re-established some software connection/s that had somehow broken.

Anyhow it’s working again. And hopefully this post will help some other web travellers. If so, feel free to post a comment below.

Cheers,
Gary Harvey

Let Visitors Subscribe to Updates at Your Site

In the continuing quest for more traffic and more website visitors, here’s another tool you might like. See that red button on the right? — the one that says “Get notified when this site updates”. (Update June 20101: I’m no longer using it. Seemed a bit clunky in practice, sorry.)

Click it and enter your email address. They will send you a password and you complete the process by logging in to their site at TheBestLinks.com.

It’s FREE — which is always something I find attractive.

And there’s a widgetized WordPress plugin, too. But I just pasted their code into a text box and as you can see, it’s working just fine.

Click it and sign up. It’s a great way to check out the plugin AND to be sure you don’t miss anything here.

When you add this button to your site or blog, you also get a listing in their directory. As the site says, “TheBestLinks.com button will help you to keep your returning visitors, while TheBestLinks.com Site Directory will bring new targeted visitors to your website.”

Cheers for now,
Gary.
