I owned a trucking company for fourteen years. It was very good to me for a long time. It allowed me to but a home and affords me to do all the things that I loved to do. But as the price of fuel increased and the economy got weaker things started to slow down.
All of a sudden it was much harder to get work. Construction was way down and nobody was building anything. This resulted in everyone chasing the same nickel.
So for the first time I was faced with a change that I was not ready for. I loved what I was doing. I had plenty of freedom everyday.
I was making good income and providing a valuable service. Once you work for yourself and own a business it is very difficult to work for someone else. It would be like going into the service and have someone telling you what to do and how to do it all day.
