Well, finally someone has produced a WP plugin that allows you to set every article up with a nearly infinite number of different versions. Result? - every time the search engine spiders come to visit your blog, they are presented with a different version of your article.

And your human visitors will experience the same endless variety.

Each time the page is refreshed, the article is worded differently. It may even be quite a different length, with some sentences or paragraphs added in or taken out.

Did the article flow right? Did it feel like it was written by a competent writer of English? (Hey, I sure hope you said Yes because I wrote it!)

The reason I ask is that WP Spinner does not use primitive word substitution as some article spinners do. It’s not based on a thesaurus or a list of synonyms. Not at all. That’s what “Make Money On A Budget” promises for those who will do what George Katsoudas explains in his ebook.

THE PROMISE

“Simple but devastatingly effective ways to make a living online” is how he describes his game plan.

So I picked up his ebook — for 2 reasons:

The wonderful endorsements on the site certainly influenced me. They did their job, in other words.

I also wanted to check it out BEFORE (possibly) recommending it.

SO WHAT’S IN “MAKE MONEY ON A BUDGET?”

Here’s what I found just now, as I went through the content. I’m writing while this is fresh on my mind. Well, basically I am just tidying up the notes I took as I read it this afternoon.

THE APPEAL

The appeal of this 50 page PDF ebook is that the author promised to show us how to make a steady income from home in a SAFE way. My question as I read is… Does he deliver on this promise?

SOME HIGHLIGHTS

Page 8 - Learn about an established affiliate marketplace (not ClickBank or CJ) that has quality repeat-purchase products. Recurring purchases are good, of course, because it means you get paid multiple times for one sale. This marketplace is also good because once you’ve proven that a company pays its affiliates on time, you can then expand into promoting other products they offer — which saves you the time you might otherwise spend finding another product or another merchant to promote.

Page 9 - How to promote affiliate products the RIGHT way.

Page 11 - An easy, clever and legal strategy to stop some folks from replacing your affiliate ID with theirs. On page 15, there’s another way to do this, too. These techniques are affiliate income boosters.

Page 16 - The full text of a sample email you can send to merchants to ask for a higher commission rate! George makes the important point that merchants need you more than you need them. Then he goes on to show some even cheekier ways to accomplish the same goal — getting merchants to pay you more per sale.

Page 19 - A neat little technique to turn your ClickBank customers into friends and to get them on your mailing list. Do this and it will set you apart from the herd of ordinary affiliate marketers.

Page 23 - How to get greater value out of the free reports you are offering on your squeeze pages. I never thought of this easy idea. And odds are… you havent either.

Page 24 - There are 2 ways to find out what your prospects really worry about ( = how you can best help them). One way is to ask them. The other way, without asking them, is covered 4 pages later.

Page 25 - A great little no-cost tip to get your subscribers to build your list for you. This one is set and forget, for sure. To give you an idea of the sort of tips and strategies in this 50 page report, let me tell you what this tip is.

When you email your subscribers, add this to the end of your messages:

“Please forward this message to your friends because they will appreciate it. They can subscribe at [link]”

Neat, eh?

And there are loads more tips like this in “Make Money On A Budget“.

Page 27 is where he starts on Driving Traffic To Your Site On A Budget. The section (plenty of MEAT in it) runs through to page 45. A very substantial section. All talk, no graphics.

FORGET LONG TAIL KEYWORDS

Page 46 is the start of a section I was *really* interested in: “How To Get On The First Page Of The Search Engines For The Best Possible Terms”.

And NO, it’s not about long tail keywords. All that keyword research is too much like hard work for George. His solution is simpler. Far simpler. Read it on page 46.

The author, George Katsoudas of Greece, has been marketing online for 6 years and he says “If I had to start marketing online starting from scratch - without any ‘marketing buddies’ and without a lot of cash, these are the exact methods I would use.”

If your business is like mine, you’re highly dependant on your computer. Your spreadsheets are on your hard drive. Your customer files are on your hard disk too. So are your financial records, your documentation… it’s all there — the works!

If you sell digital products like ebooks, software, music, audios or videos, your entire business may well be computer based.

So what would happen if your computer’s hard disk was to fail?

You’d be in serious hot water.

Let’s call it a disaster waiting to happen.

Unless you’ve got a DISK FAILURE RECOVERY STRATEGY in place.

If not, online data storage is a solution that you might find helpful.

There are a lot of companies now offering this service, including Amazon – yes, the bookshop that grew.

Even if you backup your critical data onto disks, where do you store them? Unless it’s off site, a fire would destroy both the data and the backups – along with your computers of course.

A search of Google or your favorite search engine will identify plenty of suppliers of ONLINE DATA STORAGE.

Some data storage providers allow unlimited backup, while others place a limit on the total disk space you can use.

Interested in a test drive?

You can get your feet wet by using their free plan, which is typically giving you 2 gigabytes of free online storage.

Mozy.com is one such provider. I am not associated with them in any way but they do publish a handy chart that compares their offerings with those from Carbonite, xDrive, SOS Backup, and iBackup.

You install a lightweight and free program on your computer and then select which folders you wish to have copied to the online storage site and how frequently. After that the process occurs invisibly in the background when you are online (though it can slow your computer). Backups can be done continuously or on a scheduled basis.

Whether you select the Mozy unlimited plan at $4.95 per month or another supplier, if disaster strikes and you need to use the backed up data, you will be so glad you invested in online data storage for your business.

Offer a free gift to your customers (something as simple as a free report) for taking the time to fill out your survey. Their feedback could boost your income.

For example…

Let’s say you sell 10 products a day from your site.Great! You’re happy with that as a part time income.

Then, one day you add a small feedback form on your site. It pops up when someone exits your website without making a purchase or joining your list. If there is a problem with the ordering process, you might get a stream of comments telling you what went wrong and why they didn’t order.

Great.

Valuable feedback indeed.

By fixing the issue, your stream of daily sales is now set to increase - all because you added the feedback form.

And think about it… You would’ve never known there was a problem if you hadn’t reached out to talk to your customers and your prospects.

When you don’t know what’s wrong, you can’t fix it.

When you do, you can.

FINALLY…

I know of one successful business man who only accepts suggestions from customers. That is, people who have actually bought something from him. He does not want NON-buyers to tell him how to improve his business. Is this sensible or is he missing out on helpful feedback from potential customers?

Probably the only way to know is to provide separate feedback channels for each, compare the feedback that comes in via each channel, and then track the results of implementing suggestions from each group.

RAISE YOUR PRICES

This solution seems so simple. Just raise the price and monitor the results. It may reduce the total number of sales but increase your overall revenue. Or it may not. Only testing and tracking will tell you for sure. It’s up to you as to whether you choose a tiny little increase from $17.99 to $18.95 for example, or a more substantial $20 increase up to $49.

There are 2 ways to monitor the results but in both cases you will need to create a second web page that is identical in every respect except for the price and the tracking code.

1) If you are buying PPC (pay per click) traffic, send an equal volume of traffic to both offers and see what happens.

2) If instead of buying traffic, you are using articles and ezine ads to bring your visitors, you can put a counter (statcounter.com provides invisible counters for free) so you have the numbers you need to do the comparisons later.

SELL MORE PRODUCTS

Over a period of time, add new products to your inventory. These would be quality products (always sell quality products - nothing else) that solve other problems that your customers have.

The rationale behind this is that when you sold one of your quality products to a customer, you have established a good reputation with that buyer. This gives you the edge in providing solutions to other business problems he or she may have.

What else do they need? Try brainstorming. Or survey them.

Develop your own customer upgrade path.

ADD MORE CUSTOMERS

This is often the goal of business - to find more first time buyers, but I put it last so we don’t forget the other two revenue boosters.

Of course, over time you will be working on all three fronts.
